Visitors to the Slot Festival at Gaydon on Sunday will be surprised to see Polistil relaunched into the slot car world after an absence of many years. In association with respected Italian manufacturers Slot-It the first releases will be Ferraris.
Slot-It supremo Maurizio Ferrari comments “Polistil is now owned by APS GmbH and we are pleased to have a very close relationship with them. The technical resources of Slot-It are fully behind the relaunch, and all the cars have our new logo Slot-It Inside which shows our total commitment and co-operation with the Polistil brand”.
The first two releases are due in the shops around September, and many will recognise the Ferrari F40 and Ferrari 312PB although they have been modified and the chassis engraved with the Polistil brand. This will be popular with racers as these cars were very competitive in the Slot-It range.
We asked Maurizio about the Ferrari logos on the cars, and it is confirmed that they fully comply with regulations. Maurizio did add that the cars could possibly be supplied with or without logos, depending on market forces in their desitation countries, so we will wait and see which cars turn up in production.
