Colin Hughes has been in touch to tell us that members of his club had a friendly competition at a recent club night with the victor taking Grand Prize of Issue 001 of Slot Magazine.
Looks like they are having a fun time racing and thats what we love to see.
A little about the club:
Colin started the club in 2008, at the time he hired a hall in All Saints Church in Dedworth, Windsor hence the name of the club.
The club now runs on a monthly basis at St. Agnes Church in Windsor.
The tracks are built and taken down for each race meaning that no two tracks are ever the same. Tracks range up to 120m in length and between 2 and 4 lanes.
They currently run SSD using the latest Advanced Power Base with the latest firmware on it running on a 20a power supply. The race is controlled by SSDC and projected on the wall for the racers to easily identify where they are in the race, how much fuel they have and lap times.
They have done several 6 hour races as well as charity events. And hope to host another 6 hour race this year for charity.
At present they have around 15 classes of cars, all cars have been supplied by Colin, however starting in August members will will be racing their own cars with additional classes being added every few months.
