Monday night 22 April: Luton club race officials were puzzled why the electronic counter registered one less lap than the ‘clockwork’ back-up during a 1/24 scale Eurosport heat.
James Cleave – former ISRA World Champion – was the racer responsible. The post-mortem showed that the clock couldn’t cope with James’ fastest lap, it’s only programmed to register above 3.8 seconds. That’s quite some going around a 110’ relatively twisty track, not best suited to 1/24 Eurosport cars with their high downforce. The clock’s now been re-programmed!
