The fledgling Digital Slot Car Association(DiSCA) is celebrating its first international departure with the announcement of the Lowlands Suzuka 1000 in Best, Netherlands in October.
DiSCA spokesman Gary Skipp told SLOT magazine that “after three Le Mans 24hrs and Pendle oXigen Group C races, SRC Eindhoven has chosen to host this event to the same standards that we use for Le Mans. What were known as the Le Mans tech. regs. have now become the DiSCA Le Mans Endurance Sports Car standard”.
Also in the programme at the Best (Eindhoven) Suzuka 1000 will be “three support races using the Slot.it 3D printed DTM chassis. Digital DTM will become a new DiSCA supported category with its own set of standards – TBA – and we will use these races to prove them out. This will be a big test for the 3D chassis in the hustle and bustle of a digital environment, personally I can’t wait! The good thing about these chassis, from a digital point of view, is that there is a Scalextric Sport Digital DPR version – which means they can be embraced by racers in the digital community already loyal to SSD”.
SLOT magazine No. 7 (July/August) featured the third annual 24H du Mans oXigen Slot.it digital race where 14 teams battled on four lanes for a night and a day.
